Description
Baked Honey Mustard Chicken Breasts are coated in a tangy homemade honey mustard sauce and baked until juicy, tender, and full of flavour.
Ingredients
1 tablespoon olive oil
3 tablespoons honey
1 tablespoon whole grain mustard
1 tablespoon Dijon mustard
½ teaspoon salt
2 cloves garlic, minced
4 boneless skinless chicken breasts
Fresh thyme for garnish (optional)
Instructions
1. Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C).
2. In a bowl, mix olive oil, honey, both mustards, salt, and garlic until smooth.
3. Pound chicken breasts to even thickness for even cooking.
4. Coat chicken with the honey mustard sauce evenly.
5. Arrange in a 9×13-inch baking dish, spacing pieces apart.
6. Cover with foil and bake for 25–30 minutes, until internal temperature reaches 165°F (74°C).
7. Remove foil for the last few minutes to caramelize the top.
8. Garnish with thyme and serve warm.
Notes
For extra heat, add cayenne or red pepper flakes.
Make the honey mustard sauce ahead and store up to one week.
If using chicken thighs, add 10 minutes to the cooking time.
