Description

A soft, buttery classic pound cake made with simple pantry ingredients for a rich, tender texture and timeless flavor.


Ingredients

1 cup unsalted butter, softened

1 cup sugar

4 large eggs

2 cups all-purpose flour

1 teaspoon baking powder

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

1/4 teaspoon salt


Instructions

1. Preheat oven to 325°F and grease a 9×5-inch loaf pan.

2. Cream butter and sugar together until light and fluffy.

3. Add eggs one at a time, mixing after each addition.

4. Stir in vanilla extract.

5. In a separate bowl, whisk flour, baking powder, and salt.

6. Gradually combine dry ingredients with wet mixture until just mixed.

7. Pour batter into prepared pan and smooth the top.

8. Bake 60–75 minutes until golden and a toothpick comes out clean.

9. Cool for 10 minutes in pan, then transfer to a wire rack.

Notes

Use room temperature ingredients for best texture. Add lemon zest or almond extract for extra flavor. Wrap tightly to store and freeze individual slices for later.
