Cream Cheese Chicken is a quick 30-minute recipe featuring juicy chicken breasts in a rich, creamy garlic herb sauce made with softened cream cheese.
Ingredients
8 ounces cream cheese (softened)
2 large chicken breasts
½ teaspoon garlic powder
Salt and pepper to taste
1 tablespoon butter
1 tablespoon olive oil
½ medium onion, chopped
3 cloves garlic, minced
¾ cup chicken broth
½ teaspoon Italian seasoning
¼ teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes
Fresh parsley, chopped (optional)
Instructions
1. Microwave the cream cheese until very soft and set aside.
2. Slice chicken breasts lengthwise to create 4 thinner pieces and season with garlic powder, salt, and pepper.
3. Heat butter and olive oil in a skillet over medium-high heat.
4. Sear chicken for 5–6 minutes per side until golden and cooked through (165°F), then remove and set aside.
5. Reduce heat to medium, add onions, and sauté for 5–7 minutes until softened.
6. Add garlic and cook for 30 seconds until fragrant.
7. Stir in chicken broth, cream cheese, Italian seasoning, and red pepper flakes.
8. Mix until smooth, then return chicken to the pan and coat with sauce.
9. Simmer briefly, garnish with parsley, and serve.
Notes
Soften cream cheese before using for a smooth sauce.
Use light cream cheese for a lighter meal.
Add lemon juice or extra herbs for variation.
