Description
This easy 3-ingredient apple dump cake combines apple pie filling, spice cake mix, and butter for a warm, comforting dessert with minimal effort.
Ingredients
1 box spice cake mix (Betty Crocker or preferred brand)
2 cans apple pie filling (20 oz each)
¾ cup butter (1½ sticks), sliced thin
Instructions
1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.
2. Pour apple pie filling into the dish and spread evenly.
3. Sprinkle dry cake mix evenly over the apples.
4. Smooth out lumps with the back of a spoon but do not pack the mix.
5. Arrange thin slices of butter evenly across the top.
6. Bake for 35–40 minutes, until golden brown and fruit is bubbling.
7. Cool for 10 minutes before serving.
8. Serve warm with ice cream or whipped cream.
Notes
Store covered in the refrigerator for up to 4 days. Reheat gently before serving. Freezing is possible, though texture may change slightly after thawing.
