Description
This Million Dollar Bacon & Goat Cheese Appetizer delivers crispy, candied bacon crumbles over creamy goat cheese, all served on golden crostini. It’s sweet, spicy, creamy, and unforgettable—the perfect bite-sized snack for parties, holidays, or cozy wine nights.
Ingredients
1 pack thick-cut bacon
1/4 cup brown sugar
1/2 tablespoon water
1/2 teaspoon black pepper
1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper
1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)
1 baguette
Olive oil
Salt and pepper to taste
1 goat cheese log (4 or 8 oz)
Maple syrup, honey, or hot honey for drizzling
Instructions
1. Preheat oven to 350°F and line a baking sheet with foil. Place a wire rack on top.
2. Mix brown sugar, water, black pepper, cayenne, and red pepper flakes in a small bowl.
3. Lay bacon on rack. Press sugar mixture on both sides.
4. Bake for 15 minutes. Flip. Bake another 10–15 minutes until crisp.
5. Remove and place on paper towel-lined plate. Let cool and firm up.
6. Increase oven to 425°F. Slice baguette into 1/2-inch slices. Arrange on a baking sheet.
7. Brush bread lightly with olive oil. Season with salt and pepper.
8. Bake for 7–10 minutes until golden. Let cool for 30 minutes.
9. Place goat cheese on serving platter. Crumble bacon over top and press gently into cheese.
10. Serve with crostini and a drizzle of maple syrup, honey, or hot honey.
Notes
Goat cheese can be served whole or spread on crostini before topping with bacon.
Make bacon and crostini ahead to save time when entertaining.
Pair with sparkling wine or a chilled Sauvignon Blanc.
